Jon Myers‘ article, Design: Seeing Without Thinking posted via Medium on June 15, 2013 is a refreshing entry that touches on both classic design principles and Preattentive Processing which Edward Tufte written and spoke on for several years.

Myers’ article hones in and touches on the core visual cues that help users process information. “These cues range from the orientation of lines, thickness of lines and blinking, to the density of visual objects to motion, velocity and so on.” See the full article here
