From our Friends at Logo Lounge: 2014 Logo Trends
I used to think that the mark of a good #logo is the fact that it can stand the test of time. Sure there’s some validity to that but the more I’m in this business the more I understand that that argument just doesn’t hold up.
Taken from the first few lines of Logo Lounge’s article “2014 Logo Trends”, by Bill Gardner, “The fact that so many people now view the world through a window the size of a business card has spelled an inevitable change in logo design.” it’s abundantly clear that as technology evolves so does the way we consume media, therefore the way we design for it should shift as well.
My argument does still partly hold true. To prove that point you just need to look at some of the great brands. Think about Coca Cola, Nike, the BBC and Converse, the core of what makes these marks great have stood the test of time but many of the design elements that make up those logos have evolved.
However your approach and whatever industry your in, it’s good to keep up to speed on the latest trends. This article is well worth a read.
