I’m sure we can all appreciate how much easier it was to make design decisions when fonts were not a huge factor. “Back in the day” before Type Kit, Google Fonts, etc. we only had a handful of web-friendly fonts to choose from. Now we have a plethora of fonts. As a result, design has improved. It’s been a big factor in new trends related to visual communication, responsive design and typography in general. Design is now much more sophisticated, awful and beautiful.
