Sixteeen startup teams have been chosen to participate in the Pacific Northwest edition of the Cleantech Open<\/a>, a competition which awards innovation in the clean tech sector. The teams — developing projects in everything from tidal energy to electric scooters to high performance spark plugs — will receive advice from local business leaders. They also will compete for three $30,000 prizes, with the ability to move on to a national competition this fall. Below is a list of the 16 finalists:<\/p>\n

–Arcimoto \u2013 three-wheel electric vehicle \u2013 Eugene, OR<\/p>\n

–Clarian Power \u2013 plug and play, energy efficiency hardware \u2013 Seattle, WA<\/p>\n

–Columbia Power Technologies \u2013 wave power technology \u2013 Corvallis, OR<\/p>\n

–Current Motor Company \u2013 electric scooters \u2013 Ann Arbor, MI<\/p>\n

–CyVolt Energy Systems – fuel cell technology to recharge lithium batteries \u2013 Seattle, WA<\/p>\n

–EnVitrum \u2013 construction materials from recycled waste glass \u2013 Seattle, WA<\/p>\n

–Greenstone International \u2013 green road materials \u2013 Seattle, WA<\/p>\n

–Hydrovolts \u2013 in-stream, hydrokinetic power \u2013 Seattle, WA<\/p>\n

–Innovatus Energy \u2013 biomass energy platform \u2013 Seattle, WA<\/p>\n

–LaserMotive \u2013 wireless power transmission \u2013 Kent, WA<\/p>\n

–Mercurius Biofuels \u2013 cellulosic biofuel technology \u2013 Ferndale, WA<\/p>\n
